Often times people think that if they are buying a new home in Florida that they don't need a home inspection. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Home inspections are a necessity for new homes. As the housing market becomes more competitive and profit margins are shrinking the builders many times are cutting corners to get the job finished. When a builder builds a new home there are many things that can go wrong. the subcontractors that the builders rely on may cut corners or perform sloppy work even if the builder does not realize it. Many of the building inspectors for the municipalities that perform the building inspections on the builders and subcontractors will perform hastily or poorly or may not even look at the workmanship. Many of the subcontractors laborers are poorly trained and cheaply paid and will perform substandard work especially when the budgets are tight. A good home inspector is an absolute necessity if you are buying a new home. They will check to make sure all the work was done right the first time and completed to your satisfaction. Each and every fixture and outlet should be checked to make sure that they are installed and working properly and the framing that is observable in the attic and the floor should be checked for hurricane readiness and quality of workmanship.
You can even have a home inspector take you through the entire process of construction to make sure that the builder is earning his pay. A thorough home inspection is a must have for new home buyers especially in today's market.
